Hi Nannies and Families, this is my first blog and I’m happy to say I’m focusing on Christmas art and craft ideas.
I love doing art and crafts with my two little ones whenever I get the chance to do so. I’m going to share a few of my favourite ideas with you.
Anyone can give it a go, nannies, parents, grand parents, friends and other family members – most importantly, as long as there’s a sensible adult present at all times when creating the masterpiece in order to avoid paint splattered rooms and paint / pen splattered kids! Here are a few ideas:
A big hit in our household each year are handmade Christmas cards, a personalised type is so very special and very easy to create for those who aren’t so blessed with creativity…!
Hand print or/and foot print art. I adore hand print reindeer. You just need white and brown paint, paint brushes, black felt tip, wobbly eyes or you can draw them on, a Pom Pom for the nose or red paint, a little bell and some red ribbon (you can use the one off the Lindt chocolate bunnies or bears!) for the collar, and a little pair of hands! See below;
Snow men foot prints are also fun and easy to make! You need: a foot!; black felt or card; googly eyes; red, white and black paint, brown paper for the arms; and a black felt tip.
Another favourite is home made glitter play-dough! All you need is to mix together some flour and some salt.
Mix together ½ cup of warm water with a few drops of food coloring.
Slowly pour the water into the flour mixture, stirring as you pour. Stir until combined, then knead with your hands until the flour is completely absorbed and add some glitter…!
I hope you all have a wonderful, fun, crafty and very importantly for me, chocolatey Christmas!!
