Permanent (Driver essential) Part-Time Afternoon Nanny or Full-Time exceptional Nanny / Family Assistant – West Hampstead, NW6 (main focus caring for children ages 10 & 8 – 3 year old has own nanny most of the time) Offering up to £65,500 gross per annum for the right person.

A lovely family of five based in West Hampstead (NW6) are looking for either a Part-Time Afternoon Nanny or a Full-Time Nanny / Family Assistant to join their household on a long-term basis. You must have an excellent level of English (reading & homework supervision important).

The family are open to considering either a part-time afternoon nanny or a full-time nanny/family assistant, depending on the right candidate. The part-time role would focus primarily on the children’s after-school routines and childcare responsibilities, whereas the full-time role would combine childcare with approximately 20 hours per week of nursery duties and light family assistant responsibilities whilst the children are at school. Both opportunities offer the chance to become a valued, long-term member of this warm and welcoming family.

The family have three children aged 10 years old (B), 8 year old (G) and a 3 year old (B). Whilst there is another nanny who primarily cares for the youngest child, this role will focus mainly on the two older children, with around 10 hours per week spent with the 3-year-old, so previous toddler experience is essential.

Both parents work away from home, making this a sole-charge position, although the successful nanny will work closely alongside the family’s existing nanny. They are therefore looking for someone who enjoys being part of a supportive team and is happy to muck in where needed.

A confident driver is essential, and a family car will be available for use during working hours. The family are looking for someone who is exceptionally organised, proactive and able to confidently manage busy school routines, multiple uniforms, clubs, activities and ever-changing timetables. They would love to find someone who is warm, kind and affectionate, as the older children still enjoy their cuddles and are looking for a nanny who will become a valued part of their family for many years to come.

Start Date

ASAP July 2026, although the family are happy to wait approx a month for the right Candidate.

Salary

Full-Time Position

£65,500 gross per annum, depending on experience and qualifications (equivalent to Approx £25 gross hourly).

Part-Time Position

Salary will be discussed depending on the agreed hours and the successful candidate’s experience.

Days & Hours

Full-Time

  • Guaranteed 50 hours per week, throughout the year.
  • Three long days: 6:45am – 7:30pm
  • Two shorter days: 2:00pm – 7:30pm
  • The family would appreciate a reasonable level of flexibility to work some additional hours during the school holidays when required. Any additional hours would always be discussed and agreed in advance.

Part-Time

The family are also happy to consider an experienced nanny looking for an afternoon childcare role (occasional meal prep) focusing on school collections, after-school activities and evening routines. Hours can be discussed with suitable candidates.

Duties & Responsibilities

The role will be tailored slightly depending on whether the successful candidate is appointed to the part-time or full-time position.

For candidates seeking a part-time afternoon nanny role, the focus will be on childcare, including:

  • School collections.
  • Supporting after-school routines.
  • Homework supervision.
  • Taking the children to clubs and activities.
  • Preparing healthy evening meals.
  • Bath and bedtime routines.
  • Providing a warm, nurturing and engaging environment.

For candidates interested in the full-time nanny/family assistant position, approximately 20 hours each week will be dedicated to nursery duties and family assistant responsibilities whilst the children are at school. These include:

  • Children’s laundry.
  • Wardrobe management, ensuring uniforms, shoes and seasonal clothing are organised.
  • Preparing healthy, nutritious and flavoursome meals for the children.
  • Organising school uniforms and equipment.

  • Organising cupboards, toys and children’s belongings.
  • Rotating and organising play spaces.
  • Loading and unloading the dishwasher.
  • General nursery duties.
  • Helping to keep the household organised and running smoothly.

Please note: This is not a deep cleaning or housekeeping role. The family already have support with this. They are simply looking for someone who enjoys maintaining an organised home, takes pride in keeping children’s belongings well organised and is happy to support the smooth day-to-day running of family life.

The Ideal Nanny

The family are looking for someone who is:

  • Warm, kind and affectionate.
  • Naturally nurturing with a calm and positive approach.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
