A warm and welcoming family based in East Finchley (N2) are looking for a reliable, organised and proactive live-out Nanny (inc light Housekeeping) to become a valued part of their family and help care for their two lovely school-aged children (aged 10 and 12).
This is a long-term position suited to an experienced nanny who enjoys supporting busy family life, is naturally organised, takes initiative and is confident managing both childcare and light household responsibilities. A confident, careful driver is essential, as school collections will be completed using the family’s automatic car.
Start Date
Tuesday 1st September 2026 (or by mutual agreement).
Hours
The family can offer an average of 29 hours per week across the year, with different hours during term time and school holidays.
Term Time (33 weeks) 27.5 hours per week
Monday – Thursday: 2:00pm-7:30pm (a later start may be possible). Friday: 1:30pm-7:00pm (later start may be possible)
School Holidays (19 weeks) 32 hours per week over four days Monday to Thursday. Monday & Thursday: 12:30pm-6:30pm. Tuesday & Wednesday: 8:30am-6:30pm
Fridays off.
The family have some flexibility with the holiday schedule and are keen to find the right candidate. They would also consider offering term-time hours throughout the year, with salary adjusted accordingly.
Salary
Between £32,000 – £34,500 gross per annum, depending on experience. Equivalent to approximately £22.75 gross per hour. Salary will be paid through PAYE payroll.
The Role
- This is a varied role combining after-school childcare with family housekeeping.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Collecting the children from school using the family’s automatic car
- Preparing healthy, nutritious meals for the children
- Supporting homework and evening routines where needed
- Children’s laundry and ironing
- Organising and maintaining the children’s bedrooms and wardrobes
- Keeping the kitchen and family living areas clean and tidy after the children’s use
- Unpacking grocery deliveries
- Running occasional household errands
- General light housekeeping to help the home run smoothly
By mutual agreement, occasional evening babysitting (approximately once every fortnight) would also be appreciated.
The Ideal Candidate
The family are looking for someone who is warm, dependable and genuinely enjoys working with school-aged children. They would love to find a nanny who naturally takes initiative, is highly organised and enjoys helping a busy household run efficiently.
You will:
- Have previous professional nanny experience, ideally having remained with a family for at least one year
- Be a confident, safe and experienced driver with a full driving licence
- Be warm, kind and engaging with children
- Be proactive and highly organised
- Enjoy cooking healthy, nutritious meals
- Be happy carrying out children’s housekeeping and light family household duties
- Be reliable, trustworthy and discreet
- Be a non-smoker
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS and Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Have excellent, checkable references
